Cultivating resilience
Clinical counselling and training for wellbeing and mental fitness
Waves can provide a powerful framework for understanding the fluid, ever-changing nature of our inner experiences. As we move through the ebbs and flows of life, emotions come and go, like the tides. We might experience small waves of sadness or big waves of hopelessness and despair. We can let our emotions push us around and move us along or we can learn how to ride the waves. We can allow them to wash over us rather than crashing down on us. If we develop the strategies and skills to navigate challenging waters, rather than being swept away by them, we can experience a greater acceptance of ourselves and make choices based on our values rather than on our wavering emotions.
Participation in therapy is the courageous endeavour to become a better version of yourself while in the midst of hardship.
You may be here because you feel “stuck” in some part of your life and unsure how to proceed. Seeking therapy and consciously committing to making changes in your life takes tremendous courage. This courage can lead to emotional healing, greater life satisfaction, and personal transformation. My clients have repaired intimate partnerships, overcome destructive habits, and healed emotional wounds by committing to a process of change. They report being more accepting of themselves, having greater confidence to move toward their goals, and having skills to more effectively manage emotional distress.
Through a client-centred therapeutic approach, I work with individuals and couples to experience greater self-awareness and resilience to face the challenges of life, work and family.
